New Business Selection, Registration and Restructuring

There are four main types of business entities in Michigan: Sole Proprietorship, Partnerships, Corporations, and Limited Liability Companies (LLC’s)

Each entity has it’s own benefits and risks. For example, in a C corporation, owners are subject to being taxed twice: once at the corporate level and a second time when you take the money that was already taxed out for your personal needs. Disappointment, i know!

This is why, rather than providing filing services for new business registration, I will spend the time with you to understand your business plan and help you select the right structure.

My cost for all filings to set you up with a business structure starts at $150 and includes:

• $50 credit toward any state or local filing fees
• Making sure that the name you choose for your business is not taken already
• Registering the business with the State or County
• Applying for a Federal Tax ID number

Other business filing services available at an extra cost (partnership agreement draft, S corporation election assistance, etc.)
